Liverpool's Star Offers Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.
The Fallout
The striker was dropped from a European match following criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
