Star Refutes Anti-Vaccine Position After Lending His Voice To Controversial Covid Feature
Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a recent film that challenges the efficacy of vaccines and lauds ex- government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Film's Disputed Origins
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for allegations that the illness was a result of a bad strain of the flu vaccine.
The publication's writing partner, the executive producer, has also written books with controversial media personality a known commentator. He recently posted hailing Neeson's role in the project.
A Firm Statement
A spokesperson for Neeson have provided a statement firmly refuting implications that he subscribes to anti-vax views.
"Many recognize that unethical practices may occur within the drug industry, but that must not be confused with being against vaccines," the response explains. "He has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency reinforces his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
The statement added that the star did not shape the film's narrative and that inquiries about its claims are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Major Assertions Featured in the Film
According to the documentary, the voiceover provided by Neeson features several controversial points:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to public institutions.
- It posits that "research has become deeply politicised."
- Kennedy is featured saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't adequately tested."
- The film takes aim at stay-at-home orders, saying they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Past Controversy and Recent Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
Recently, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to change its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This claim is also referenced in the film, contrary to a recent study from the WHO stating no evidence has been found.
A Previous Statement of Support
Differing from the film's tone, Neeson has previously voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
The documentary finishes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This is not the end of our journey. It is the start of a new chapter."
