Two Victims Identified in the Providence Campus Attack as Authorities Press On With Manhunt for Perpetrator.

Both young individuals who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack on the university campus were being remembered Monday – while an intensive search for their assailant continued following the discharge by local law enforcement of the single suspect questioned in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was remembered as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as vice-president of Brown’s chapter of College Republicans of America, the group said. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also expressed words of sorrow publicly, remarking: “Words cannot express. Remembering her family and friends, especially her parents.”

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, an Uzbek national in his first year of studies at the Ivy League university, according to relatives.

His name was verified by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a memorial statement.

Nine other people were hurt in Saturday’s attack in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man arrested in a raid at a lodging about 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.
