Your Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the community. Starting with the gradual unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the title's launch, to players developing strong opinions on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to anticipate.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a powerful partner; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Similar to a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted many trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Many past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. You cannot convince me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless stream of gossip to those who wish to listen. Much like an captivating, sociable Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds very similar to a people-smart Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also known for its ability to make a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, based on your taste). Players were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s just like the emoji a Virgo posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to worry more about others.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and vowed revenge on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the amount of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small entertainer” is innumerable. The showiest and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even mentions how it “flexes to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
Capricorn – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical energy as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re correct. The thing is, much like a prophetic Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Aloof element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating presence is also very Aquarius. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
